Biography





Janis M. Lane, Executive Associate Music Director

Janis LaneCo-Founder and Executive Associate Music Director Janis M. Lane holds a Bachelor of Music degree, graduating Magna Cum Lauda, and also a Master of Music Education degree from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She was a founding member of "A New Mind," and later "Gateway," both interdenominational touring choral ensembles sponsored by the Wesley Foundation of Georgia Southern University.

Ms. Lane currently teaches general music classes for the Walton County School System at the Loganville Elementary School in Loganville, Georgia. In 1986, she conducted the Festival Singers’ performances of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. In 1988, she co-directed the Singers with William Baker in the ensemble’s celebrated tour of England and Wales.

Janis M. Lane has served as Music Director for Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. From 1981 through 1984 she was Associate Music Director for Christ the King Lutheran Church in Norcross, Georgia, also directing the children’s choirs. She has participated in numerous continuing education events in the areas of pastoral music, liturgical resources, and worship practice. Ms. Lane is a resident of Snellville, Georgia, and is a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Norcross.
