Biography
Scott Smith, Director Atlanta Midtown Youth Chorale
Scott
Smith, baritone, has been part of the Atlanta music scene for the past
seventeen years. Performing with the Michael ONeal Singers, for
fifteen years with the William Baker Festival Singers, Scott has performed
in front of many different audiences. He has enjoyed performing in both
stage and theatre productions including community theatre projects in
which he appeared as Joe in Showboat, Andy Lee in 42nd Street
and Balthazar in Amahl and the Night Visitors. As a dedicated chorus
member, Scott has sung in productions of Stabat Mater by Dvorak,
Elijah by Mendelssohn, Messiah by Handel and dozens of other
major works. He is the newly-appointed Director of the Atlanta Midtown
Youth Chorale, the newest ensemble of the Choral Foundation.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Scott attended the University of Illinois
at Chicago and has made his home in Atlanta for the past sixteen years.
