The Summer Singers of Lee’s Summit was created in 2014 to serve the growing Kansas City area communities of Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Independence, Lake Lotowana, and beyond.  Led by co-directors Lynn Swanson and William Baker, the 75-member chorus performed concerts of diverse classical works and spirituals in its first three seasons, including Mozart: Missa Brevis in D, The Creation by Franz Joseph Haydn and the Requiem of Gabriel Fauré, each performed with distinguished soloists and members of the Kansas City Symphony.

The summer of 2017 will feature a program called SUMMER MUSIC FIT FOR A KING, including Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Handel’s Coronation Anthems and African-American Spirituals on “kingly” themes, all performed with distinguished soloists and professional symphony orchestra.
