Chip Handrich, a native of Canton, Ohio, holds a Bachelor of Music Education in voice from Friends University and a Master of Music Education from Wichita State University. He also studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music’s Institute of Voice Performance Pedagogy under Dr. Richard Miller and has completed all levels of Somatic Voicework™—The LoVetri Method—at Shenandoah Conservatory.
Chip has been the tenor soloist for the Wichita Chorale Society’s performance of Messiah, where he later served as conductor and artistic director. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Peoria Bach Festival and the Frederick Bach Festival, performed as tenor soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, and sang the tenor role in the quintet from Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42 at the Luther 500 Choral Festival under the direction of Helmuth Rilling. He currently sings with the William Baker Festival Singers.
Chip has served as a church choir director and worship pastor for more than 45 years. Since January 2018, he has served as Associate Pastor of Worship and Music at Second Baptist Church. He joined the staff of the Institute for Healthy Singing as a fellow in 2026.
